I do have a background in Fine Arts but since computers have taken over the world,
I don't exercise that skill as much,
but here are a few recent examples of the old fashioned, by-hand applications

Halloween Costume

It takes an extra effort to think of something unique and different enough to win this costume contest.
Working for a very creative company requires more than just any ol' costume so I decided to be a
rolled up Gambit newspaper. I did this project in 2 nights - very rushed, but I won 2nd Place.
(although I was told by several I was robbed, I was honored to
place with the heavy competition from some VERY creative folks.)

French Quarter Inspired Dining Room

Growing up in beautiful Uptown New Orleans and moving to the north shore made me realize
how much I loved the architecture and history of the French Quarter. So I decided to transform
my boring, cookie-cutter, 9 year old dining room into a French Quarter courtyard. Although
I'm not there yet, what I've done so far makes a huge difference. I painted the walls to emulate
the look of the old plaster/cement cracking away to reveal the brick walls beneath. My dining table
is a large planter urn filled with greenery & twinkle lights with a glass table top. The ubiquitous brass
chandelier has been disguised with more greenery garland & adorned with medallions from Super Krewe beads.
